The transforming love and power of the Gospel colors and shapes all five of the defining values of Christ our Hope. Not surprisingly we devote significant prayer, energy, and resources to expanding Gospel mission in our Diocese.
First and foremost, we plant churches. Planting multiplying, disciple-making, Anglican churches is the “arrowhead” of our calling. Training and supporting church planters is closely tied to that. Click here to learn more about church planting and church planter resources. Church planting curacies are also part of our strategy.
But we do more than that in the DCH to foster mission expansion. We seek to inspire people by telling Stories of Hope: lives, families, and communities transformed by the Gospel, creative ways that churches in our Diocese engage their communities with the Gospel, and more. These Stories of Hope are not meant to simply inspire: they enable you to network together in mission. Networking in mission goes far beyond what the DCH can officially do and is only as limited as your desire and capacity to connect. In other words, go for it!
Expanding mission is a central topic we visit in some way in almost every one of our Regional Events and Synods. (Click here to learn about our Regional Strategy and schedule of events.) We also occasionally sponsor Intersection Events in the field – learning events for clergy and laity to discuss crucial topics where the Gospel challenges the assumptions of our society. Look for regular announcements on our events page or in our newsletter for information on Intersection Events in your area.
Finally, Mission Expansion is a global issue, and the DCH devotes time and energy to that as well. Visit our Rwanda Ministry Partners page for more information.
